Our Incredible India Tour gives you a full experience of India in 12 days. We take you to three major cities: New Delhi, Bangalore and Mumbai. You will learn firsthand about India’s unique culture and friendly people.
The experience in Delhi includes guided tours of historic sites like the Taj Mahal, Jama Masjid Mosque, Lotus Temple & the Red Fort. Then a walk in Chandni Chowk, one of India’s most famous outdoor markets with shops selling spices, dried fruit, silver jewelry, saris, & traditional Indian sweets.
In Bangalore, known as both the “Garden City” and the Silicon Valley of India, you will volunteer at nonprofits and schools that serve marginalized children & families in the areas of education, healthcare, food & housing. You will also tour a multinational company & office park to see India’s role in worldwide business & technology.

Itinerary
Day 1: Departure Flight
Overnight group flight from NJ (EWR) to New Delhi (DEL) in India
Day 2: New Delhi
Welcome & Orientation in New Delhi
Walking tour of Greater Kailash neighborhood
Day 3: New Delhi
Tours of Old Delhi & New Delhi – markets, bazaars, temples, street food stalls & famous historical sites: Red Fort, Chandni Chowk, Jama Masjid, Rashtrapati Bhavan (President’s House), Parliament House, Humayun’s Tomb and Qutub Minar.
Pandara Road & India Gate: In the evening, grab a bite at night at one of the many street food stalls and restaurants in Pandara. Then a walk to the famous India Gate which looks spectacular at night time.
Day 4: New Delhi
Morning: Lodhi Park. Walking, yoga, and/or pickup game of cricket in this 90 acre park in the heart of Delhi. Walk among the park’s 15th century architectural works like Mohammed Shah’s Tomb and the Tomb of Sikandar Lodi.
Afternoon: Visit the nonprofit Salaam Baalak Trust (SBT) and learn about their programs for street children in Delhi. Join a “City Walk” guided tour of Delhi given by a child from SBT who used to live on Delhi’s streets.
Evening: visit to Gurudwara Bangla Sahib, an important and spectacular Sikh temple.
Day 5: Agra
Day trip to the city of Agra where you will visit Agra Fort, the Taj Mahal and the “Baby Taj” – the Tomb of Itmad-ud-Daulah.
Day 6: Bangalore
Fly from Delhi to Bangalore (2.5 hrs)

Tour a multinational company & office park to see a slice of modern India
Day 7: Bangalore
Full-day visit to an award-winning nonprofit in Bangalore that helps & support marginalized children, women, and youth.
Evening visit to VV Puram Food street
Day 8: Bangalore
Visit and volunteer at a rural school outside of Bangalore that caters to the holistic needs of 350 children from nearby impoverished quarry workers families and children’s residential centers.
Day 9: Mumbai
Fly from Bangalore to Mumbai (2.5 hrs)
Tour of Mumbai: Gateway to India, Taj Mahal Palace Hotel, Marine Drive
Day 10: Mumbai
Malabar Hill: Hanging Gardens & Kamala Nehru Park
Bollywood movie set tour
Day 11: Mumbai
Morning visits to temples: Babulnath Temple and Shri Siddhi Vinayak Ganapati Mandir.
Shopping for souvenirs at Crawford Market. After dinner, transfer to Mumbai’s airport for group overnight flight to the US.

Entry Requirements
Latest entry requirements for India
1) Passport: You need a passport valid for 6 beyond date of visa application to obtain Indian visa.
2) Visa: You must have a visa. You apply for an “E-Visa” India’s Immigration website.
3) Vaccinations: All vaccinations are optional including for COVID.
4) COVID Test: You must have a negative COVID test taken within 72 hours of the departure flight for India.
Travel
Our US Tour Director will travel with your group on a direct flight from Newark NJ (EWR) to Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi (DEL). We will coordinate the flight date/time with your group leader(s).
In India: Ground travel will be by private buses operated by our local partners. There are two internal flights which we will book for you (airfare is included in your program fee).
Accommodations
Students will stay at 3 star and above hotels. Rooms are 2-3 students of the same gender per room. Shared bathrooms with hot water.
Food
Meals will be mostly traditional local meals, with occasional fast food visits. Meals will feature rice, dal (beans), green vegetables, potatoes, chicken, fish, beef and tropical produce. Vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free diets are easily accommodated.
Water
Tap water is not safe to drink. We will provide bottled water daily.

Dress Code
India is mostly hot and humid year round so cool and comfortable is the best guideline. Modesty is required out of respect for India’s conservative culture.
WIFI & Cell Phones
We encourage students to (mostly) disconnect in order to fully immerse themselves and get the most out of the trip. However all of our accommodations have WIFI. Most cell phone carriers have roaming plans if desired. Cell phone coverage can be spotty in rural areas.
Emergencies
Parents, you will have our 24/7 emergency number and will also receive updates from our staff while your child is in India. Our trip leaders in India are available 24/7 for any illnesses or injuries. There are hospitals / clinics in all of our program areas.
Weather
The climate of India is tropical with a rainy monsoon season from Jun-Sep. Expect hot and humid days and nights (75-90 F) year round. It’s a good idea to bring a waterproof jacket/hoodie and small umbrella.
Laundry
You will have the opportunity to do your laundry 1-2 times at a cost of $4-$10 per load.
Language
English is one of India’s official languages and widely spoken. However our trip leaders are multilingual in local languages including Hindi and Kannada.
