EWE Tours Launches New International Volleyball Travel Program
PHILADELPHIA, PA, January 1, 2026 — EWE Tours, a Philadelphia-based nonprofit specializing in life-changing student travel, is proud to announce the launch of its new international volleyball travel program. The flagship offering, the Costa Rica Volleyball Tour, provides student-athletes ages 14–21 with a unique 9-day experience that combines high-level competition, community service, and adventure.
Founded in 2001, EWE Tours has spent over two decades leading students on cultural immersion journeys across Africa, Asia, and Latin America. This new sports-focused initiative is designed to bridge the gap between athletic development and global citizenship.
“Our mission has always been to inspire students to learn and grow through immersion in non-Western cultures,” said Scott Burke, Founder and Director of EWE Tours. “With the volleyball program, we’re giving players the chance to test their skills against international competition while simultaneously making a tangible impact in local communities and experiencing the natural wonders of Costa Rica.”
The Costa Rica Volleyball Tour highlights include:
- Competitive Play: Matches against local high school, university, and club teams, along with training sessions led by coaches from the Costa Rican National Team.
- Community Service: Meaningful volunteer opportunities, such as serving at local food banks and conducting volleyball clinics for Costa Rican youth.
- Adventure Excursions: Immersive experiences including rainforest hikes, zip-lining through the canopy, visiting the Arenal Volcano, and exploring the beaches of Jacó.
- Cultural Immersion: Homemade meals with local families, Spanish language practice, and guided tours of San José’s historic landmarks.
The program is open to existing school and club teams, as well as players who wish to assemble a team for the trip.
