Our Dominican Republic Baseball Tour offers players age 12-18 the unique opportunity of going abroad for competitive baseball, community service and adventure excursions. Depending on your level, you will compete against Dominican high school, club and community teams. Baseball will be your entre into DR’s rich history and culture.

Itinerary
Day 1: Departure Flight
Group flight from Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) to Punta Cana’s Las Américas International Airport (SDQ). Orientation, neighborhood walk and meal in Santo Domingo.
Day 2: Santo Domingo
Walking tour of Santo Domingo with stops at the Monastery of San Francisco, San Nicolás de Bari Hospital (UNESCO site), the Cathedral of Santa María la Menor, and the park Parque Colón. Visit baseball museum “La Casa Museo del Pelotero Profesional Dominicano”. Overnight in Santo Domingo.
Day 3: Consuelo
90 min bus from Santo Domingo to the town of Consuelo. Afternoon: baseball training, practice, and a live game with Dominican players. Overnight in Consuelo.
Days 4: Consuelo
Full day of baseball training, practice, and two live games with Dominican players. Overnight in Consuelo.
Day 5: San Pedro de Macorís
Morning: tour of the town of San Pedro. Afternoon: Juan Dolio Beach. The white sand, palm trees and crystal clear waters make it one of the most popular destinations in the Dominican Republic. Overnight in Consuelo
Day 6: Consuelo
Morning: Visit social work project. Afternoon: Baseball training, practice, and live game with Dominican players. Conduct baseball clinic for Dominican kids. Overnight in Consuelo.
Day 7: Consuelo
Morning: Visit nature conservation project. Afternoon: Baseball training, practice, and live game with Dominican players.
Day 8: Punta Cana
Full-day excursion to La Hacienda Park: Zipline, Chairlift, ATV, Ride Horses. Overnight in Punta Cana.
Day 9: Punta Cana
Beach day. Shopping for souvenirs. Program wrap-up dinner. Overnight in Punta Cana.
Day 10: Departure Flight for Home
Group flight from Punta Cana’s Las Américas International Airport (SDQ) to Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR).

FAQ
Entry Requirements
You just have a Passport with a minimum validity of six (6) months. You do not need a visa or any vaccinations to enter the Dominican Republic.
Travel
Our US Tour Director will travel with your group on a direct flight from Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) to Punta Cana’s Las Américas International Airport (SDQ). We will coordinate the flight date/time with your group leader. Ground travel in Dominican Republic is by private buses operated by our local partners.
Accommodations
Students stay at 3+ star hotels, with 2-3 students of the same gender per room. Single rooms are usually available — please ask us in advance.
Food
Meals will be mostly traditional local meals, with occasional fast food visits. A typical breakfast is “Tres Golpes” (three hits) which consists of fried cheese, salami and eggs. There will also be cereal, bread, eggs, plantains, pancakes, and fruit available. Lunches and dinners will have combinations of rice, beans, stews, vegetables, green salads, chicken, beef, pasta, stir-fries, and potatoes. Vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free diets are easily accommodated.
Water
Tap water is not safe to drink. We will provide bottled water daily.
Dress Code
We ask that you please be respectful and follow Dominican customs on dress: neat, clean, and modest.
WIFI & Cell Phones
Cell phone coverage is good in Dominican Republic. However we encourage students to (mostly) disconnect in order to fully immerse themselves and get the most out of the trip. All of our accommodations do have WIFI. Ask your cell phone carrier about roaming charges/plans.
Emergencies
Parents will have our 24/7 emergency number and will also receive updates from our staff while your child is in Dominican Republic. Our trip leaders including those from the Dominican Republic are available 24/7 for any illnesses or injuries. There are hospitals / clinics in all of our program areas.
Weather
The Dominican Republic has a warm climate year round. Temps range from 88F in the day to 70F at night. The driest months are December to mid-April. June to November can be affected by hurricanes.
Laundry
Laundry for your uniforms is included in your program fee and will be taken care of by our staff. You will have the opportunity to do your laundry at a cost of $4-$8 per load.
Spanish Language
Our trip leaders are bilingual in Spanish and English. You do not need to be able to Speak Spanish for this program. However we certainly encourage you to practice with locals as much as you can.
